The Joseph and Alma Gildenhorn Institute for Israel Studies sponsor Krav Maga, an explosive combative street-fighting! Come and watch black-belt experts demonstrate the hand-to-hand combat system of Krav Maga, developed in Israel and used by Israeli Defense Forces.

Impress loved ones by saying “I love you” in another language! Students from the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures will be on hand to teach you many ways to say this affectionate phrase.
Write Your Name in Greek and Latin! All Day
Stop by the Classics table to learn how to write your name and introduce yourself in Greek and Latin!
Baby Guessing Contest All Day
Can you tell baby boys from girls? Take a quick quiz featuring baby pictures of famous Americans. Department of American Studies Professor Jo Paoletti author of Pink and Blue: Telling the Boys from the Girls in America will answer questions about the history of baby clothing.
Put Yourself on the Map! All Day
Learn about the history of immigration to Maryland and participate in a map-building project where you can record and preserve your own compelling story that illustrates the ethnic diversity in Maryland. Developed by the Center for the History of the New America.
Arabic and Persian Flagship Programs Open House All Day
Come visit the University of Maryland’s Arabic and Persian Flagship Programs and explore different aspects of Arabic and Persian culture through mini language courses, career talks, food, and other activities including our Flagship ICONS interactive simulations.

Learn about the state-of-the-art MRI machine and cutting-edge research at the new Maryland neuroimaging Center! Interactive activities with magnets show show the magnetic field is used to create images.
