The
business of Philosophy is to think, clearly and logically, about
the deepest and broadest questions. How can we distinguish right
from wrong, and truth from falsehood? How should we organize society
and act toward one another? What makes a valid argument?
Fifteen credits of coursework, at least six of which must be
at the 300-level or higher.

Select one:
Logic: PHIL 170 (Introduction to Logic), PHIL 173 (Logic and
the English Language I), or PHIL 271 (Symbolic Logic), PHIL
273 (Logic for Philosophy).
History of Philosophy: At least one course in pre-twentieth
century philosophy. NOTE: PHIL 100 (Introduction to Philosophy)
does not count toward this requirement.
Ethics/political Philosophy: Select one:
PHIL 140 (Contemporary Moral Issues), PHIL 245 (Political and
Social Philosophy), PHIL 341 (Introduction to Ethical Theory),
PHIL 346 (Introduction to Virtue Ethics).
