The Department of American Studies (AMST) invites you to join the first session in the newly revived American Studies Brown Bag Series 2017. This series encourages critical conversation, collaboration, and community—while showcasing scholarship, art, and activism—in the department and beyond.   On Monday, November 6, 2017 at 12 p.m. in 0330 Tawes Hall, Dr. Psyche Williams-Forson, Associate Professor and Chair of American Studies will start the series with the presentation: "Eating While Black: Food Shaming and Food Policing".   Feel free to bring your own lunch and enjoy this lively discussion!   Also, mark your calendar for the following series session(s):
