College Park Scholars Academic Showcase
College Park Scholars Academic Showcase
The Academic Showcase is regularly attended by officials of the UM community including the Dean for Undergraduate Studies.
Second-year students from all twelve Scholars programs are invited to participate, and research-based courses are offered to help facilitate the development of student ideas and to introduce research methodologies. Traditional Discovery Research is a course tailored to allow students to identify a research question of their concern, and guides them towards using proven research techniques to arrive at a conclusion. Discovery at the Library of Congress gives students the opportunity to travel to the LOC weekly and use the resources of one of the world’s greatest libraries, to answer their own self-generated research question. For details on these courses, please visit our Undergraduate Research page for more information.
All students, faculty and staff, administrators, family and friends are cordially invited to engage these students and enjoy their contributions as they bring their two-year experiences in Scholars to a close.
Their culminating Scholars work in research, internship, service-learning, and study-abroad projects will be featured.
