Exhibition: "Moving Visuals"

The David C. Driskell Center at the University of Maryland invites you to "Moving Visuals.” This exhibition is the first at the center to feature video art and focuses on a handful of contemporary African-American artists who explore popular culture, social issues and history in their work. The exhibition is on display from September 13 through November 16, 2018.

There will be an opening reception for the exhibition on Thursday, September 13th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. During the opening event, emerging artist Vanessa Jagodinsky, will perform her piece, “Consume.”

Fitting with the theme of the exhibition, Jagodinsky’s performance explores her identity as well as the social and racial issues she faces daily. Please be advised that this performance will contain nudity.

The event is FREE and open to the public.

The David C. Driskell Center is located at 1207 Cole Student Activities Building at the University of Maryland College Park.

Hours of Operation:

  • Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended hours on Wednesday until 6 p.m.

  • Select Saturdays: February 17, March 3, and April 28.

  • The Driskell Center observes all University of Maryland closings due to inclement weather and holidays.

  • The Driskell Center office is open daily during the weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
