The Center for East Asian Studies presents a Panel Discussion on "The Rise of Divorce in East Asia"

Expert panelists will discuss the rising rate of divorce in China, Japan, and Korea, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative perspectives. The panel will comprise the following experts:  Anthropologist Allison Alexy, University of Virginia; Jing Lin, Professor of Education, University of Maryland; and Sociologist Hyunjoon Park, University of Pennsylvania.  Seung-kyung Kim, Director of the Center for East Asian Studies, will serve as moderator.  After presentations by the panelists, the floor will be open to audience questions and comments. 

The panel discussion is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

The Panel Discussion is co-sponsored by the Confucius Institute, the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures, the Department of History, the Department of Sociology, the Maryland Population Research Center, the Office of International Affairs, and the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures.
