College of Arts and Humanities | David C. Driskell Center for the Visual Arts and Culture of African Americans and the African Diaspora Thursday, September 12 - Friday, December 13, 2013

 

This exhibition features a collection of 11 statues created by artist Alison Saar, includes works created from 2010 to 2012 and combines the ruggedness if nature with solid structures, which ties them to classical statues. The exhibition includes four never-exhibited works and six new pieces.

Alsion Saar: Still…is organized by the Ben Maltz Gallery, Otis College of Art and Design.

Opening Reception: Thursday, September 12, 5-7PM

The opening of the exhibition will include gallery tour by the artist. This tour is a collaboration between the Driskell Center and the Department of Art as part of the Claudia DeMonte Lecture Series, which highlights women and minorities in the visuals arts.
