On Friday, October 11th, Arts & Humanities students from Communication, English, and History took part in a trip to the NBC News Washington Bureau. Students from Journalism also participated in the University Career Center sponsored event.

During the visit, students toured NBC News, visiting the Today Show and Meet the Press sets, as well as the set for the local news. While visiting the set for the local news, students had the opportunity to see the actual filming of the news. It provided a behind the scenes glimpse of what happens both in front of and behind the camera to create a news telecast.

Overall, the trip provided students with insight into the workings of the field, gave an opportunity to interact with and ask questions of professionals, and introduced students to information about NBC’s paid internship program for undergraduate and graduate students should they wish to apply for the highly competitive program.

A photo album for the event can be found on the ARHU-Student Affairs Facebook page.
