David C. Driskell to participate in African American History Month presentation at the National Gallery of Art.
The National Gallery of Art is offering several programs in celebration of National African American History Month. Highlighting the program are three illustrated presentations, including:
David C. Driskell, artist, collector, and emeritus professor of art history, University of Maryland at College Park, in conversation with Ruth Fine, consulting curator or special projects in modern art, National Gallery of Art
Two former National Basketball Association (NBA) players, Elliot Perry and Darrell Walker, collectors of African American art and art of the African diaspora, in conversation with Michael D. Harris, associate professor of art history and African American studies, Emory University
Bridget R. Cooks, associate professor of art history and African American studies, University of California, Irvine, and author of the book Exhibiting Blackness: African Americans and the American Art Museum.
