THE CONSORTIUM ON RACE, GENDER AND ETHNICITY RECEIVES PCEMI AWARD

The Consortium on Race, Gender and Ethnicity (CRGE) has been selected by the President’s Commission on Ethnic Minority Issues (PCEMI) to receive the 2017 Non-Instructional Unit Service Minority Achievement Award. The university is very pleased to recognize CRGE’s many outstanding accomplishments and contributions, particularly its role in mentoring and advancing the careers of graduate students and junior faculty. A notable accomplishment is the development of the Qualitative Research Interest Group (QRIG) and the Intersectional Qualitative Research Methods Institute (IQRMI), a national mentoring initiative. The research topics and teaching addressed through the use qualitative and mixed-methods are consistent with the PCEMI’s core mission of advancing ethnic minority issues.

The awards ceremony will be held Monday, May 15, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. in the Colony Ballroom, Stamp Student Union. Please contact Reshma Nargund at reshma@umd.edu to confirm your attendance. CRGE friends and colleagues are invited to attend.

The College of Arts and Humanities is pleased to join the university in honoring CRGE's significant impact on our community.
