Department Of History Welcomes New Assistant Professors

Join us in welcoming Piotr Kosicki, who will teach Russian History, and Colleen Woods, who will teach United States History, for the Department of History.

Please join us in welcoming our new Assistant Professor of European History. Piotr Kosicki is currently an ACLS New Faculty Fellow and Lecturer in the Corcoran Department of History and Associate Director of the Center for Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies at the University of Virginia. He received his Ph.D. at Princeton University in 2011. It was directed by Jan Gross and was entitled, “Between Catechism and Revolution: Poland, France, and the Story of Catholicism and Socialism in Europe, 1878-1958.”

Colleen Woods

Please join us in welcoming our new Assistant Professor of United States History, Colleen Woods. Dr. Woods is a Mellon postdoctoral teaching fellow at Amherst College, having received a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan in 2012. Woods completed her dissertation, "Bombs, Bureaucrats, and Rosary Beads: the United States, the Philippines, and the Making of Global Anti-Communism, 1945-1960," under the direction of Penny von Eschen.
