Maryland Grad Wins Outstanding Dissertation Award In Communication

Dr. Adam S. Richards received the Gerald R. Miller Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from the National Communication Association.

Dr. Adam S. Richards, a recent University of Maryland graduate and now an assistant professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Texas Christian University, is one of the 2014 recipients of the Gerald R. Miller Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award from the National Communication Association. Given annually, the award recognizes new scholars who completed outstanding dissertations during the previous academic year. Dr. Richards was recognized for his dissertation, completed at University of Maryland, entitled “Survival of the Persuasible: An Evolutionary Approach to Interpersonal Influence."

Dr. Richards will be presented with his award during the 100th Annual Convention of the National Communication Association from November 21-23 in Chicago. The NCA is the largest Communication association in the United States. Congratulations Adam!
