Last night “Modern Family” was anointed. It won Emmys for Best Comedy Series, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Writing and Best Directing in the comedy category. The raucous assemble follows a long line of family-based comedies that trade on the absurdity of parenting.
