The event was began with a performance from the School of Dance, Theater and Performing Arts that retold the story of Martin’s death and previewed how George Zimmerman’s trial might go.
Lines delivered by Christopher Lane, a freshman psychology and theater major, hinted at topics that many speakers in the forum later addressed.
“We are victims of illegality, even when smiling and silent, and Trayvon proves that,” said Lane in the role of Martin’s father. “This is just another tragic moment in America that everyone will forget.”
