U.S. TREASURY SECRETARY JACK LEW DISCUSSES $10 BILL REDESIGN AT UMD

The U.S. Secretary of the Treasury, Jack Lew, conversed with more than 60 students and faculty Wednesday in McKeldin Library about the importance of democracy in the redesign of the $10 bill.

For the first time in more than 100 years, a woman will appear on a U.S. bill. Which woman will be featured on the $10 bill and what other changes will be made are still undetermined, said Lew, who made the initial announcement of the redesign in June. The formal redesign plan will be announced by December.
