UMD students and faculty commemorate the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 in a performance of Mozart'sRequiem Mass in D Minor (K. 626), as well as readings and other musical selections.
The Requiem Mass, Mozart's last work before his tragically early death, summons momentous events of loss and remembrance of the departed.
"It's an unfinished masterpiece that evokes the tragedy of loss," says conductor Ed Maclary. "What more appropriate memorial for September 11?"
