Outreach
Many programs are offered by the College of Arts and Humanities (ARHU) at the University of Maryland for the benefit of schools and communities throughout the state. ARHU's outreach programs are designed to promote learning, teaching, and community building. Area students gain access to the educational resources of a large public university while being exposed to the possibilities available from a college education. K-12 educators can engage in collaborative study with leading scholars and education specialists while garnering support and time to reflect and learn from the experience. Communities benefit from the energy and engagement of Maryland students, faculty, and staff as they enter into schools, parks, and community centers to help the region thrive through volunteer work, clean-ups, fundraisers, tutoring and more.
