Career Center
The College of Arts and Humanities offers some advising programs which focus on career planning and decision making.  However, students are encouraged to supplement college and departmental advising by utilizing the career development services available in the Career Center.  The Center offers career development services, career counseling, workshops, courses, special programs, a Career & Employment Resource Room, an extensive web site (http://www.careercenter.umd.edu), and a Credentials File Service in support of graduate school and employment applications.  The Center also assists students with locating part-time, internship, cooperative education, graduate assistantships, and full-time employment opportunities through job and career fairs, on-campus interviewing, resume referral, and job listings.  Direct access to these employment services are available through TERP Online, the Employment Registration Program.  Students may obtain a TERP account by attending a required Career Center TERP Online workshop and having a one-time $20 fee charged to their account.

Career Resource Annex
The College of Arts and Humanities has a Career Resource Annex located in 1120Q Francis Scott Key Hall.  The Annex is open to all Arts and Humanities students from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.  Shelf materials contain information on graduate and professional schools, pre-law information, internships and job opportunities.  There are also current internship postings.

Through our on-line computers, students using with TERP accounts TERP can connect to the Career Center's TERP Online.  TERP accounts can be obtained through on-line registration at the Career Center website or by visiting the Caeer Center in Hornbake..

Students are also able to access the World Wide Web through Netscape.  We have "bookmarked" a number of sites appropriate to Arts and Humanities students dealing with internships, scholarship searches, standardized testing and employment resources.  These sites are also available under Links.

Please note that there is no word processing software available on the Annex computers, nor are printing services available.  Students should, however, feel free to ask for photocopies of any materials from the Career Resource Annex.
