Become an ARHU Peer Mentor!

Help New Students and Earn One Credit

Course Offering-Fall 2003
ARHU 468 (1 credit): Peer Mentoring

Do you remember your first year at Maryland? Perhaps a special person gave you part of their time to teach you the ins and outs of the university. Another person may have given you tips on good classes to take, or things to check out around town. Or did you feel lost on such a big campus and feel that everything was impersonal? Having gone through this process, you know that entering the university and possibly moving away from home can be an exciting yet scary time. Why not share what you've learned with someone else? Become a peer mentor and help new students around campus and share about the different opportunities our school offers. It will make a huge difference on a new student's experience here at Maryland.

The College of Arts and Humanities Peer Mentoring Program helps new students adjust to college life and provide support and resources. If you are interested in becoming a peer mentor and earning one upper level credit while doing this, please contact us! We have new students for fall term who are looking for enthusiastic, friendly, and experienced upperclassmen to show them around!

Pick up an application at the ARHU Student Affairs Office, 1120 Francis Scott Key Hall.

Applications must be submitted by July 11, 2003.

For more information about ARHU 468 and how to apply to be a peer mentor, contact Ashley Ho, Peer Mentoring Program Coordinator at 301-405-2108 or send an e-mail to ashleyho@deans.umd.edu.
