- Read
the Undergraduate
Catalog, which explains university policies and
procedures.
- Learn
the CORE
curriculum.
- Read College handbooks/guidebooks which give you information about the
College
and your major. The ARHU miniguide is
available at 1120 Francis Scott Key Hall, the
Office of Student Affairs.
- Learn about the requirements for your major.

your College/department's website for information on your requirements, advising and registration. Pay particular attention to the Frequently Asked Questions page.
- Before an advising appointment, prepare:
- an academic plan
- a list of items to be discussed
- a list of questions to ask
- a proposed schedule of classes see
#3 under "Before Registering".
- all necessary forms for the appointment.
- Become
aware of what Academic
Advising is and the Rights
and Responsibilities of students and advisors.

Before
registering:
- Know
what CORE,
College, and Major
requirements you need to fulfill, if unsure meet with
a College and/or a Major
advisor.
- Check
Testudo
for
- Prepare
a schedule of classes that:
- fulfills
CORE,
College, and Major
requirements (check for prerequisites);
- meets
academic and/or personal interests;
- is balanced, based on your commute time,
work hours,
personal responsibilities, allowing time
for meals and study.
Then register on Testudo.
If you waitlist any classes, be sure to check it every day.
