The Women over 25 Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation

Scholarship funds for adult women are now available through the Returning Students Program of the University of Maryland Counseling Center. These funds are provided by the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation, and 10-12 scholarships ranging from approximately $300 to $600 will be awarded.

To qualify, women must meet the following criteria by the application deadline: November, 2001.

* Women 25 years of age or older (if you will not turn 25 by the deadline, keep this information for next semester).
* Admitted as full or part-time undergraduates at the University of Maryland, College Park campus.
* Completion of at least half the credits necessary for the undergraduate degree (at least 60 credits completed).

In addition, special consideration will be given to women with verifiable financial need, women with disabilities ( or family member/s with disabilities), and women pursuing their first undergraduate degree.
Newcombe scholarship funds are for use during the Spring 2001 semester at the College Park campus to cover partial tuition expenses as well as the cost of any off-campus supervised internship, books and fees, child care, or career-related costs.
