The Stringer Foundation Performing Arts Scholarship
for Students majoring in Dance, Music or Theatre

The College of Arts and Humanities announces the availability of Stringer Foundation Performing Arts Scholarships to be awarded to a student in Dance, Music or Theatre. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and demonstrated financial need. Candidates must be full-time during the 2008-2009 academic year. Students on full scholarship are not eligible.

For consideration of award the student must meet the following qualifications:

· Be of senior status at the beginning of fall semester 2008
· Have a 3.3 GPA or above
· Demonstrated financial need (provide a written statement)
· one letter of recommendation from a faculty member to be sent directly to the College
· a two-page, double spaced essay discussing the importance of any of the performing arts as a part of a true liberal arts education.
