Jing
What is Jing?
Jing is a project by TechSmith that offers users free screencapture software and complimentary space on the TechSmith server, located at Screencast.com, to host users videos and images.
What does Jing do?
Jing captures footage from your computer screen and turns it into either a still image or video, then provides a link to your recording so that you can easily share your file with others. Tony Dunckel, Jing Project Manager, explains:
"Think of Jing as a supplement to all your chat discussions, email threads, forum posts and blog entries. It sits nicely on your desktop, ready to capture and share your stuff at a moments notice. Simply select an area of your screen, capture it as an image or record it as a video, and then click Share. Jing conveniently places a URL to your content on your clipboard ready for you to paste the URL into any of your conversations."
How can Jing help me?
- Capture images or video of your screen to share with students
- Store up to 200 MB of screencasts or screenshots on Screencast.com's server
