What is YouTube?

YouTube is a website where users can upload, share, and view videos for free. Most of the content is uploaded by individuals, thtough corporations and media companies are also known to use the site.
Youtube.edu provides users the chance to browse, post, and view videos with a purely academic purpose.

What does YouTube do?

YouTube allows registered users to upload video files up to 1 GB in size and 10 minutes in length. The resulting video is of lesser quality than the original file. All YouTube videos are open to the public for unregistered users to view, and registered users to rate and comment on.

How can YouTube help me?

YouTube enables you to:

  • Upload video files to the Internet to be accessible to anyone
  • Watch videos uploaded by other users
  • Create a user profile and rate or comment on other videos
