Information
To
better enable Arts and Humanities faculty (or faculty/graduate student
teams) to reach their instructional and research goals, the College
is offering a new technology training program. Faculty will have the
opportunity to participate in a week of training and development,
during which faculty will focus on an individual content track which
will then be supported throughout the academic year with electives
and office-hours.
Who
Can Participate
Faculty
in the College of Arts and Humanities are invited to participate in
the STaR program. We restrict class size to 10 participants so that
you will receive the support needed to not only gain skills but to
complete work for an upcoming course. Graduate Students may participate
if a faculty-partner participates with them. Please contact us for
more information on this option.

This
seminar will focus on how technology enables the teaching and learning
process. Using your course syllabus as a starting point, we will
work to match technology solutions to needs identified in your course
goals and objectives. We will also explore ways in which the use
of technology can enhance a challenging concept or idea for students
to comprehend. We will work through the process of creating a course
website that addresses these teaching and learning goals by including
interactive components, media elements and content resources.
Using
Multimedia to Support Research Methodology
This
seminar will explore the uses of multimedia in documenting and conducting
research. Whether your research methodology includes interviews with
experts, field observations or high quality images, multimedia tools
such as digital video, digital audio or image editing can complement
the archival and/or presentation of your work.
