CNT: The Committee on New Technologies
CNT advises the Dean's office on strategy and policy

CNT is a sub-committee of the Collegiate Council and an advisory body to the Dean's Office on IT strategy and policy. CNT's core mission is solicit, develop, prioritize, and recommend initiatives that best serve the IT needs of the College, broadly conceived. The Committee periodically formulates long-term IT development plans. CNT also recommends new policies and policy revisions governing IT resources within the College (such a instructional technology fund distribution and ACS services).

CNT is a faculty body that includes ex-officio members from ACS and MITH. Members are appointed by the Dean and serve two-year terms. IT proposals that call for College support normally are referred to CNT. The current chair of the CNT is Dr. Neil Fraistat (cnt-chair@umd.edu).
