What is a WIKI?
A WIKI is a type of software that allows mulitple users to easily add, edit and share website content. The ease of interaction and operation makes it possible to have multiple people collaborating to produce a final product in the form of a website.

What are people doing with WIKIs?

• Assigning collaborative group work for a class project,
• Collaboratively creating online annotated bibliographies,
• Designing online visual exhibitions,
• Creating a reference resources,
• Maintaining aministrative documents such as Graduate Program handbooks,
• Integrating media such as digital images and audio, and
• Writing collaboratively at a distance.

ARHU Pilot
The College of ARHU is providing access to WIKI software for faculty interested in exploring its application in the teaching and learning process. ARHU is participating in the OIT sponsored committee to identify a campus wide WIKI solution, however, in the interim we are using Wikimedia made available through the generous support of Mark Tilmes, IT Systems Manager, CMPS.

We will provide you with a WIKI space for academic purposes. Please understand that this is a pilot program, and we cannot guarantee the longevity of the site. ARHU might select an alternative WIKI solution at some point, and a transfe from existing wikis to the new software might be necessary. No major changes would take place midsemester. We will be asking for feedback on your experience so that we can better understand the needs of ARHU faculty.
