Uploading and Editing Web Files on the College of ARHU WebServer (for Windows users)

1. Connect your local computer to calliope via ftp.
a. Launch WS_FTP32 or WS_FTPLE. You probably have this utility even if you don't know you do. Try searching on "FTP."  If you do not have an ftp utility you can download one from http://www.download.com or visit OIT's helpdesk http://www.helpdesk.umd.edu/documents/0/848/.

Once you lanch WS_FTP, the Session Profile window opens at the General Section.
Create a new Profile by hitting the new button and entering the following values:

 

Profile Name:  calliope
Host Name/Address:  calliope.arhu.umd.edu
Host Type: select automatic detect
UserID:

___________________________________

(enter your glue login name- most likely the same as your LDAP id). Your id is indicated above.)


Password: enter your password for your glue account.

c.

Click the Startup tab to enter the directory path to which you want to upload your files. It will look something like the image below but you will enter the following path:

/export/software/arhu/__________________________________________________________
(Case matters, so make sure you enter the path exactly as it is indicated above.)

Click the OK button.
