We'll retouch a scanned photograph, making typical corrections needed for a digitized image. 1. Open the boats.psd file. The first thing we'll do is crop and straighten the image. 2. Select the crop tool in the toolbox. Drag to select the part of the image you want to crop.
3. Move the pointer outside a slection to select the rotate selection tool; drag until the crop rectangle is parallel with the image. Drag the handle bars if you need to adjust the size of the crop rectangle. Hit return (or enter) or double click inside the crop area. The image is now cropped and squared.
Now we'll make some overall adjustments to the entire image. First we'll expand the tonal range of the image so that the colors extend through the full range of dark to light and then we'll work on the color balance. | |
