Dual & Mandatory Advising
Dual Advising Process
Students in the College of Arts & Humanities have at least two advisors: a departmental advisor who deals with requirements within the major and a college advisor who handles general education and college requirements outside the major.
Mandatory Advising
To ensure timely graduation, the following students must must see an academic advisor at both the college level in 1120 Francis Scott Key Hall and at the departmental level:
- All freshmen and transfer students during their first semester on campus
- Newly declared ARHU majors
- Students with 45-55 credits
- Students with 90-100 credits
Students may meet with their departmental and/or college advisors any
time they have a question about their academic plans and degree
requirements. Students should contact their departmental and/or college advisors to learn about advisor availability.
Please note that some departments require advising for the major
every semester.
