Students on Probation/Dismissal

Students on Academic Probation/Dismissal may elect to become a part of the Academic Incentive Plan (AIP). If students decide to join the AIP program, they will be required to complete several tasks. Students will be assigned an advisor*. Each student in the AIP program must meet with his/her advisor three times in a semester in order to:
  • Create course plan for the subsequent semester
  • Assess grades needed for classes
  • Clarify long-range course and career goals

Students should contact Jessica White at 301-405-2108 to learn who their assigned advisor will be.

*Some departments require students on probation/dismissal to meet with a departmental advisor; please see your departmental advisor for details.

Athlete Advising

All student athletes have mandatory advising at the departmental and college level before they can register for courses. Student athletes are strongly encouraged to register on time for classes to accommodate their practice schedules. Please ensure that all blocks-- advising, vaccination, and financial--are lifted prior to your registration date and time.

Athletes should ensure they:
  • Meet with a departmental advisor to complete an audit;
  • Take a list of interesting courses to their meetings;
  • Meet with Dr. Paula Nadler in ARHU by scheduling an appointment at 301-405-2108.*

*All-day walk-in hours are held on the day of athlete registration for students who have been unable to get an earlier appointment.
