- The Arundel Mills Scholarship is for students majoring in Theatre, Music or Dance.
- The Catherine Vuozzo Scholarship is for Arts and Humanities majors that need financial assistance.
- The Heyward G. Hill Memorial Scholarship is for Arts and Humanities majors interested in a career in international affairs.
- The Stringer Foundation Performing Arts Scholarship is for students majoring in Theater or Dance.
- The Catherine P. Mackin Memorial Scholarship is for First-Year Arts and Humanities Majors.
- The Douglas and Holly Jacobs Memorial Scholarship is for transfer Arts and Humanities majors from a community college.
- The Artist Scholarship is for students majoring in Music.
- The D.B. Hirsch Foreign Language Scholarship is for students majoring in a foreign language in the College of Arts and Humanities.
- The D.B. Hirsch Scholarship is for students majoring in French, German or Japanese.
- The James F. Harris Arts and Humanities Visionary Scholarship is for Arts and Humanities Majors with outstanding academic achievement.

The Arundel Mills Scholarship

- One letter of recommendation from a University of Maryland faculty member to be sent directly to the college. - Resume or list of activities and awards
- A two-page double spaced essay. Topic: In the past few years the world has changed tremendously. What do you think the role of the performing arts will be in the next ten years? How do you see yourself contributing to the field?

- An essay (2 pages double spaced) Topic: What does it mean to be an "educated" person? What is the role of the discipline in which you are majoring in forming educated people?

For consideration of award students must submit:
- A written statement to demonstrate financial need

- A two-page, double spaced essay discussing the importance of any of the performing arts as a part of a true liberal arts education.
Catherine P. Mackin Memorial Scholarship
For First-Year Arts & Humanities Majors

- Topic:The transition from high school to college.
- Describe your experiences as a new student to the University of Maryland. What academic challenges did you face? What factors contributed to your success? What advice would you give a new student to succeed academically?

The James F. Harris Arts and Humanities Visionary Scholarship
$1425
In honor of Dr. James F. Harris, former Dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, an endowed scholarship has been established in recognition of his visionary leadership. The James F. Harris Arts and Humanities Visionary Scholarship recognizes students with outstanding academic achievement and demonstrated interest and activities that exemplify key principles of an arts and humanities education. Students must have a major in the College of Arts and Humanities with a GPA of 3.6 or higher. Students must be full-time during the 2012/2013 academic year. Students on full scholarships are not eligible. Application form can be mailed or delivered in person to 1120 Francis Scott Key Hall. The deadline for applications is Friday, March 29, 2013.
