UM Libraries

The University of Maryland at College Park has eight libraries on campus. McKeldin Library is the main library and is located on the Mall. Information for all eight libraries can be found at UM Libraries.

Computer Labs

The University of Maryland at College Park has numerous computer labs across campus available for student use. Computer Lab locations can be found at OIT.

Career Center

The Career Center is located on the third floor of Hornbake Library. Students can go there to:
  • Find part-time work on & off campus
  • Find help choosing a major
  • Conduct job searches
  • Explore options when considering graduate and professional school
  • Find resources for internship opportunities
In addition, the Career Center hosts or works in collaboration with other units on campus to provide career events such as jobs fairs, resume workshops, graduate school admission panels and open interview sessions with employers.

Writing Center

The University Writing Center is located in 1205 Tawes Hall. The writing center staff can offer suggestions to undergraduate students on how to improve their writing. The center also hosts online chat sessions geared specifically towards ENGL 101. Hours and instructions for scheduling an appointment can be found on the website. 

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center, located in Susquehanna Hall 4th floor, provides a wide range of counseling, consultation, and educational services. Learning Assistance Services and Disability Support Services are both located within the Counseling Center. Students can go to Learning Assistance Services for help in choosing a major, developing time management and stress management skills, note taking and test taking skills. Students who have a learning disability and are seeking accommodations due to disability must be registered with Disability Support Services in advance.
