Please join us as Professor Robyn Muncy discusses her new book, Relentless Reformer: Josephine Roche and Progressivism in Twentieth-Century America

 

 

 

 

Professor Muncy’s scholarship focuses on social policy and progressive reform movements in twentieth-century America.  Her first book, Creating a Female Dominion in American Reform, 1890-1935 (Oxford, 1991), analyzed the role of middle-class white women in creating the U.S. welfare state.  Her most recent book, Relentless Reformer: Josephine Roche and Progressivism in Twentieth-Century America (Princeton University Press, 2014), is a political biography of activist Josephine Roche.  The book analyzes America’s progressive reform tradition from the Progressive Era through the Great Society.  Professor Muncy has been a Fellow as well as a Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars (2007-08, 2009).  She was also featured in Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 2004 and 2005.
