I Spy: Redesign for College Park

ARTT352 students will hold "I Spy: Redesign for College Park" in the Herman Maril Gallery on the first floor of the Art and Sociology Building on the campus at University of Maryland College Park from November 10 to November 18.

The free event is open to the public, and refreshments will be served at the opening from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm on Thursday, November 10.

Professor Buck Coleman asked students at the beginning of the semester to re-design an existing product's package to appeal to the College Park demographic in particular. The class project included research on the demographic and the characteristics of packaging design that appealed to it, as well as the process and production of each student's product re-design. The third portion of their project is to set up an informational exhibit on the College Park demographic that displays their re-designs as well.

The exhibit features an interactive game that asks visitors to choose which product they believe has been redesigned to fit the College Park market from a group of similar types of products.
