Defiant Braceros: How migrant workers fought for racial, sexual, and political freedom.

Dr. Mireya Loza is a curator at the National Museum of American History, Smithsonian Institution. Her areas of research include Latino History, Social Movements, and Labor History. Her first book, Defiant Braceros, won the 2017 Theodore Saloutos Book Prize awarded by the Immigration and Ethnic History Society. Her research has been funded by the Ford Foundation, the Mexico-North Research Center, the Smithsonian Instittuion, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
