The Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library "Speaking of Books: Conversations with Campus Authors," presents:

"Battleground Korea: Songs And Sounds of America's Forgotten War," a box set of four CDs offering a genre-spanning gathering of 121 tracks about or inspired by the war, ranging from the likes of blues, country, and R&B, featuring Hugo A. Keesing. 

Dr. Keesing, former professor of American Studies at the University of Maryland, and creator of the abovementioned box set, will present on the music, what it meant for the war, and his research.

Keesing may also discuss the 13-CD box set he curated for Germany's Bear Family Records, Next Stop Is Vietnam: The War on Record, 1961-2008.

This event is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
