Students at Arts, Humanities and You

On March 8, nearly 40 high school sophomores and juniors attended speeches and mock class sessions with ARHU faculty.

On Saturday, March 8, 2014, the College of Arts and Humanities welcomed nearly 40 high school sophomores and juniors to Arts, Humanities & You.

This event was designed to expose high school students with an interest in the arts and humanities to the vast opportunities at the University of Maryland. Guests were welcomed by Assistant Dean Audran Downing and given a keynote speech from Dean Bonnie Thornton Dill. Guests were treated to a mock class session with faculty presentations from professors Susan Dwyer (Philosophy), Leslie Felbein (Theatre, Dance and Performance Studies) and Jason Farman (American Studies).

Additionally, student ARHU Ambassadors along with ARHU alumni led a session on Becoming Worldwise. Before concluding the day with a campus tour, guests were treated to lunch where J. Darius Greene, Associate Director of Student Affairs, shared information on Admissions and Financial Aid.
