Terp Talks
Terp Talks is a "Ted Talk" style event the Department of Communication puts on every semester where students are chosen to speak about their fearless ideas. Selected speakers are prepared for weeks by a speech coach. The speakers are not limited to Communication majors, but include various majors and students seeking both bachelor's and master's degrees. The event will feature seven students who are taking the stage to share their unprecedented ideas, and show their peers what makes them a fearless Terp. Although speech topics are not being revealed, event coordinator Ishan Dey coyley admitted that this year’s speeches are “unique and represent the students of the University.”
This semester our student speakers are:
Sydney Parker - Communication major
Luke Makris - Marketing and Supply Chain Management major and Master's in Supply Chain Management
Shimon Horwitz - Operations Management & Business Analytics Major
Matt Marks - Physics Major
Rick Tagne-Teta - Graduate Student, School of Public Policy, Undergraduate Alumni, African American Studies
My-Asia Chaplin - Global Health Equity and Epidemiology, certificate in African- American Studies
Vishnu Chandrasenan - Graduate Student, Telecommunications
