University of Maryland scholars and artists shared their ideas on fostering creativity and counteracting the forces that constrict the mind.

In this era of divisive politics and pandemic-related isolation, the College of Arts and Humanities (ARHU) Collegiate Council invited four University of Maryland scholars and artists to help us foster our creativity and counteract the forces constricting our habits of mind.

Featured panelists included:

  • Jason Farman, Professor of American Studies and Director of the Design Cultures & Creativity Program, Author of “Delayed Response: The Art of Waiting from the Ancient to the Instant World”
  • Arie W. Kruglanski, Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Psychology, Author of “The Psychology of Closed Mindedness”
  • Jared Mezzocchi, Associate Director and Professor of Dance/Theatre Design and Production in the School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies and Multimedia Designer
  • Mayron Tsong, Associate Professor of Piano and Co-Chair of the School of Music's IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access) Committee
