Why did you decide to attend the University of Maryland?

I came from a relatively small high school. I wanted to jump right into the college experience and attend a school with strong academics, a big campus and a great sports program.

Why did you select your ARHU major? What makes the major unique/special to you?

I knew I wanted to be a communication major because I am really interested in the marketing and technology world. I wanted to help communicate the changes and innovations technology is making.

What do you enjoy most about studying the arts and humanities?

I enjoy the wide range of topics I can study by being an Arts and Humanities major. I'm learning how to write a research paper in one class and learning how communication in a big organization can be successful in another. Both of these topics, though very different, will help me in my future endeavors.

How have your involvements made you a more WORLDWISE ARHU student?

Yes, I think they have! Last summer I was a Journalism and Multimedia intern at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. I took all the knowledge I gained from my Communication major, my minor in astronomy and had the opportunity to communicate some of the most cutting edge research and science of our time! Plus, I got to see some really cool space hardware.

What has been your most memorable moment at the University of Maryland?

My most memorable moment was when the University of Maryland basketball team beat Duke. I wasn't able to go to the game but I still got to cheer on the team and celebrate with the rest of the TERPS!

What are your plans career plans? What experiences/opportunities have you engaged in to prepare?

I want to work for big technology and marketing company. I want to help communicate their successes to the world. I've had prior internships in the field to prepare me, and my ARHU degree will definitely get me there.
